Zurich, Enge station (building engineering/SBB Travel Centre)
The station building at Zurich Enge station dates back to 1927 and is under protection as a listed building. The building’s space is primarily used for retail purposes, food outlets and office space. As part of SBB’s sustainability strategy for energy and CO2 efficiency, the entire heating and cooling system will be converted to facilitate the use of sustainable lake water. At the same time, the ventilation systems will be centralised to increase efficiency. The SBB Travel Centre will be renovated in line with the new design plan for a customer-oriented experience: customers will be advised in an open space consisting of different areas that can be oriented to the changing needs of passengers.
